Guest facilitators: Martina Rosenberg (CETL), Lara Chiaverini (Director of Inclusive Excellence), Laurie McCarty (UConn Regional campus coordinator), Ken Perez (DEI committee), Erin Scanlon (DEI committee). Lunch included, open to faculty and staff.

 

 

• Thursday, March 21, 11 AM, Branford House: “The Resilience and Peril of American Politics” with Professor Frank Griggs and former UConn President Susan Herbst. Student leadership luncheon to follow. Co-sponsored with Campus Dean’s Office. Open to campus community.

 

• Feb/Mar In preparation for the April 2nd Poetry Event, established writers visit 5 Classrooms to help generate student poetry: FY Writing, Women’s Lit, Philosophy, and Social Ethics. Co-sponsored with English Dept. and Campus Dean’s Office.

 

• Tuesday, April 2, 6-7:30 PM, Branford House: “An Evening of Community Building with Poetry and Spoken Word” with writers Jessica Cerullo, Yexandra Diaz, Frederick Douglass Knowles, and selected students. Open to campus community and public; students are encouraged to invite friends and family, and the general public is invited.

 

• Tuesday, April 4, 11-12:15 PM, ACD 303, talk with Suzie Flores of Stonington Kelp. Regenerative and sustainable solutions to problems facing our world – including aquaculture and kelp farming. Collaboration with Syma Ebbin environmental science class. Open to campus community.

 

 

 

• Wednesday, April 24th, 12:15 – 1:15 pm in the Branford House Faculty Lounge. Listen to “Democracy Means People Power, Literally,” from Baratunde Thurston’s podcast How To Citizenand and join Global Café to talk about power and community with interested students, faculty, and staff. Lunch provided.
