Swimmable, Fishable, Drinkable Rivers: RiverCubing, Art, and the Common Good

Date: Monday, November 7, 2022 — 12:15-1:15 PM

Location: Branford House, first floor

Philosopher/artist Bob Johnson will present a video/slide lecture about Artful Trash Management & RiverCubes (art made from trash found in rivers), which began on Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers, continues in the Connecticut River Watershed, and is now active in the Hudson Valley.

Dr. Johnson will present work from his new book, which uses the Hudson River Watershed as a case study for the successful leveraging of public trust, aesthetic, and ecological principles to advance commonwealth goals: swimmable, fishable, drinkable waterways.

Come meet this interesting forager and artist: See the work he’s doing, ask questions, be inspired! Refreshments will be served.

Sponsored by Global Cafe, in collaboration with EcoHuskies and the AVS Gallery.
